Five Principles: Dr. Kamath's practice is based on the principles of Honesty, Expertise, Availability, Confidentiality and Professionalism.
Honesty: All potential clients are given complete information about Dr. Kamath, his practice, his qualifications, his fees, etc., in an office information brochure. Care is taken to ensure that there are no surprises. Dr. Kamath also keeps a detailed scrapbook about him in the waiting room giving his patients complete personal and professional information about him going back to his great grandparents! The book, titled Just in Case You Are Curious, has become a hit with his clients. In his dealings with his clients, he is absolutely honest and above-board. In turn, he expects the same degree of honesty from his clients.
Expertise: Dr. Kamath keeps up with the state of the art in psychiatry by attending high level symposia and seminars on psychopharmacology all over the country. He obtains more than 25 hours of Continuing Medical Education per year as required by the licensing authority, the Board of Healing Arts. His professional expertise and skills are based on the experience of treating over twenty five thousand patients over a span of thirty years.
Availability: Dr. Kamath takes great pride in being available to his patients round the clock. When a client calls him at the office (573-334-4002), he takes every single call. All his clients have his home phone number (573-335-7545). When Dr. Kamath is not at home, he is available on his cell phone (573-225-8880). When abroad, he appoints an experienced physician to cover for him for medical emergencies.
Confidentiality: No information about any client is revealed to anyone else without the client's written permission. If a court subpoenas a client's record, the client is promptly alerted about this so he/she could take counter action. Patient confidentiality is such an obsession with Dr. Kamath that he cleans his office himself so no one would be in his office when he is not there! Since Dr. Kamath does not participate in ANY insurance plan including Medicare, he is not mandated to release any information to any agency unless ordered by his clients.
Professionalism: All clients are treated with respect, courtesy and kindness. Dr. Kamath's down-to-earth behavior always puts even the most scared clients at ease instantly. Dr. Kamath is well-known for his impeccable professional manners.
